DuuuuuUUde the last coupla days have been crayyyzaaayyy.....and oh yeah i'm finally twentaayyyyyy!!!!
Well Monday and Tuesday was the 'work' kinda crazy.....still had a Java lab to hand in Monday....and the Java final lab exam on tuesday -errrghhh i'll be happy with a clean pass - i'm ,like, totally screwed if i don't make the cut on the Programming course.....Strangely wasnt in a very celebratory mood after that......mostly just moped around that night.
Wednesday was just plaaain crazy - had my birthday 'celebration' that night ( urrm....yeah....ohhh-kayy thanks for the present guyssss.......ermm.....) after the end-of term bar party and foosball competition. The afternoon was agony tho....1-7 at the freakin mSoc AGm - voting for the pres and the v.pres alone took ages. The warbling chattybitches who argued about the technicalities of the -5-3-2 point system didn't help it finish any sooner. Hehe by the end of the AGM we had a very violent committee - an Oestrogen dominated ( and Linstead dominated too) one.
Thursday? Woke up with a ringer of a headache and a tingling nausea that continued for most of the day ( guess why ) Managed to go on a quick shopping run before dinner though. Finalized the plans for our trip through germany and switzerland - leaving on a 6-ish pm flight friday......needless to say i most probably won't be blogging or replying email ( ooOOOh the HoRroRsss!) for almost 2 weeks......damn had better make sure i bring enough work - no - GET enough work done on the trip ( anyone who said "huat ar" - screw youuuu ) to stand a chance at doing well at my finals....RIGHT after Easter vacation.....diee.....Haha had a little supper party at my room around midnight which ended up with alex, lu and lim ( okay mee too) makin a whole buncha weird videos with my camera ( fear the pinching pliers of doOOOMM!!) - hahahaha some good shit there.....
soo....till next time - auf viederschen! gotta finish packing!!!

Less than a week to go to the end of term....
Had a blast on friday - and early saturday morn'. Went to see LSE's joint Msoc/Singsoc event with some hallmates - the Kuah and the King Slu...i mean PLaYaaaA ( who was here for spring break) also came along. Haha the show was kinda disappointing - and thats even before comparing it to IC's mnite. The skit capitalising on singaporean/m'sian stereotypes was kinda funny though - until they started getting wayyyy to0 political ( apparently the m'sian high comm vip representative wasnt amused and left before the skit finished) .
Ditched the show soon after the skit with the other two Cempakans to meet the rest in Leicester Square - had a late dinner there and then lepaked at ( where else ) haagen dasz. Then we crashed for a while at J.Y's place and then moved on to burn away the rest of the night/morning at my crib. Needless to say , the whole night was spent talking random rubbish and reminiscing on the odd funny school story. Freakin barrels of laughter....waris...izran..if only you guys were here - suuuure gelak sampai pecah perut siaLLL
Saturday was kinda unproductive and boring.......after sleepin at like 7am and waking up at 3 just milled around and did juuust a little bit of work. Shared dinner with Lu, Alex, Lionel, Darren and charlotte at the ( strangely deserted) bar and did the usual stuff.Yup. B-O-R-I-N-G. At least got a little bit of work done. THink i'll give the London Games a miss tomorrow and try and get more work done (*riight*). Hahaha apologies if this entry wasn't particularly entertaining or witty......tired and burnt out - really can't wait for the term to end....*slump*

Top of 'tha mornin' to 'ya lads and lassies!
St. Patty's day in the hall was kinda fun....in a crazy ang mor kind of way....haha talked soo much random rubbish and played soooo many stupid games with the singaporeans, m'sians and the locals as well. OF course, being St. Patrick's day, most of the lads were drunk off their rockers with Guiness. Played loaaads of foosball as well - yup...all through the night. Suffice to say, i didn't get any work done. Memorable highlights of the night include charlotte being bullied ( among other things )by the re-apps at foosball , the *sheath* ( don't ask) and someone putting a table, potted plant, traffic cones and a Yellow Pages (?) in the hall lift. Absolute hilarity.
The "Nirwana" party at Tantra the other day wasnt too bad, altho last term's was better i'd say. Quite a few of the 1st and 2nd year m'sians were there, along with the same 'ol faces - ex oundelians, the odd ex-cempakan etc. Kinda getting bored and jaded of clubbing ( no seeEEriously). Highlights? - the absurd prices of drinks there ( 200pounds-ish for a bottle of Moet - must've been LOaaaDs of big spenders there that night - haha they practically announce it whenever someone opens a bottle 'cos they serve it with really loud sparkly fireworks) and a random pop-ish malay song they played near the end. Haha some of the IC guys were reallly gettin dowwnnn.....
Maaan i can't wait till the end of term. Despite catching up on more sleep and going out less....i'm really wearin thin. I can only take soo much more of being hunched over like a gargoyle and churning out code ( that doesnt even freakin work) at 3 in the morning and the last minute coursework runs. I just wanna tie up all the loose ends by next week so i can just cruiiise through the last coupla days.
OOohhh yeah remembered a really funny random story from last week at the labs.... a few coursemates were trying to outdo each other in a strange, strange game of changing their department login passwords to progressively longer and more complicated ones( yup - us computing people are kinda sad ). The winner? our weird yr1 rep with a 30+ character long alphanumeric password. The funny bit? He couldn't remember it 5 mins later and the fool had to trundle off to CSG and had to get it reset ( not a very fun thing to do).
Anyways.....its back to a freakin Reasoning/Programming coursework for me.....fruor vividus excedere!

Couldn't help but smirk as "Raindrops" came up on my iPod as i was walking in the rain to do my Sainsbury's grocery run.
The recent weekend had a strange, surreal almost idyll feel to it - well most probably its because its the first proper weekend we've had since IC's mNite. ORRrr it could be all the coffee, sugar and sleep depravation - my sleep cycles are spinning into utter...umm....utter fucked-up-ness( excuse my french) , particularly this weekend - explanation to come in the summary.....but neither really explained my recently rediscovered affinity for cheesy-ass malay songs...jiwaaaang!!!
After leaving T&G particularly satisfied with a new ( relatively different from normal) haircut - of course NATURALLY it had to be raining - and getting slightly varied responses from the other linsteadians , generally had a quiet boring friday night. Normal after dinner foosball session followed by a "power nap" . Later joined Lu, Alex and Lim who were watching a weirdass but cool anime - spirited away - and then decide to go bug charlotte for some "gossip" [cough]. She held us at the door for quiiite a while until one of us made an excuse to come in - most of us were there from like....1-ish till around 3 but none of us were very good interrogators. Damn. Must remember to bring some sodium pentathol next time.
Burnt the entire Saturday afternoon at Oriental City with Alex, Jingye, Lu, Val and Jac. Ate loooooads for lunch at the food court, checked out the shops, frittered some time at the arcade there ( still can play DDR...yaay) , loaded up on foodstuff we can't find in chinatown and had satay and teh tarik at the distinctly Malaysian stall outside in the parking lot. Hahaha the satay was kinda pricey but kinda authentic too - except it doesn't really feel the same when its windy and around 5degrees outside. Still wondering why we hadn't ordered it to be sent to the INDOOR food court.......
Some of the guys wanted to stop at chinatown on the way back , since some things were still cheaper there, and we had to change tube lines at leicester anyway and we had day travelcards - aaAAand we could bother the sweet couple-to-be [COUGH COUGH] who would be having a *roMaNtiC* dinner there. But in the end we decided to just go straight back home 'cos half of us kInDA decided to leave them alone and the other half just can't really be bothered. After a quick dinner, lionel, charl , lu and alex crashed my room and watched some anime, and of all things Finding Nemo. After that and some cock-talking we ended up on a deeevious photoshopping session...hee hee HEE...( sorry Lu..and oh yeah Val ). More insiduous attemps to extract "**gossip**" from charl [cough cough] failed....must really remember sodium pentathol next time. Went to sleep around 5-ish again.
AAAnnd we come to Sunday afternoon ( 4 o'clock Sainsburys run in the rain). Joined most of the other guys on B landing after their dinner, and unleashed the evil of the earlier photoshop session to much laughter in charl's room. After most of 'em cleared off its just me, alex, lionel and charl[cough COUGH] talking more rubbish...and playing with balloons ( don't ask ). Gave up on any interrogation attempts and just relegated ourselves to puerile teasing and innuendoes again....hee hee hee.
Wellll back to work again....damn weekly assignments..
oh yeah really hoping that the opposition , PAS in particular will lose miserable-fucking-ly in the m'sian by elections next week

YeeAAARGhh what are those damn birds doing up so freakin early...not cold ah getting up at 2.30am and chirping away like no-freakin-body's business - damn they're annoying.
It doesn't really help that half the windows in the staircase rooms don't close properly - conveniently enough there are various gaps strategically positioned so that you will always get a nice gust of dry, freezing wind on your bare feet, typing hands etc. Well at least you get a real good shoulder workout whenever you gotta close or open those freakin sliding wooden windows....anywayyy i digress.
Right now i should be doing my operating systems coursework ( arrgh wtf are semaphores?). All things considered this has been a relatively relaxed week...even though the workload is normal-ish if not on the heavy side, i've somehow managed to catch up on more sleep. But frankly i'm getting bored. Missed Elle's B'day dinner at Khan's to finish an assignment Monday, followed Charlotte and Fong may shopping thru High st. Kent ( nothing but mundanely routine, required purchases) Wednesday afternoon and joined everybody in "surprising" Darren with a B'day cake later that night( Wahlaueh - 22 recycled candles.....burning quite the well riight? - luckily we didn't set off the fire alarm altho we kinda melted the chocolate frosting on top).
Haha can't forget following the SingSoc commitee elections as well on that day by SMS...sooome people were sooooo into it they kept SMS thru the bitter cold winds - well the results werent exactly what we expected but congrats anyway to the linsteadians who got in. Makes me kinda wonder how the m'sian Soc elections are gonna turn out...next 2 weeks-ish are reallly gonna be interesting. Some people are already clearly on the politicking warpath....but by next week probably even the nominees ( myself included - running for committee - go me!) who labelled the zealous ones....well zealous will hafta pull out the " if you cant beat 'em, join em" card and go fishing for support among the M'sians.
Wee--elll better get back to that damn OS coursework - gotta finish it before i get a few more measly hours of sleep if i'm not gonna be a freakin dungu at the math tutorial at 11 and relatively energized and aggressive for fencing at 12.....kinda lookin forward too to my first appointment with a stylist at Toni & Guy at 3.15 to hopefully finally change my eternally unchanging boring mane.....vain schmain...you gotta try everything once, right? < cue lame gay joke from Lu and consequent painful jab from amar>
p.s. no, i am NOT gay....
p.p.s reALLLyyyY!!

Whoaa....what a week...
ANywaY first things first - IC's mNite 2004 was the biZoMB!! A big hand to all the other performers and people involved - and to the audience too - another sold-out year. yaaaay. Too bad the performers couldn't get to see much of it cos the mat sallehs screwed up the supposed live broadcast to the dressing rooms so now we hafta wait till next year for the damned DVD.Decided the after party at opium was not gonna be worth the trouble so went with the original idea of just chillin out in the hall with the linstead crew. Hahaha probably had more fun there then we would have had clubbin - had a weird ( possibly champagne aided) singalong session to the cheesiest songs till like... 5 in the morning. Amused by charlotte's and fong mays extensive memory of cheesy song lyrics , then disturbed by alex's equally extensive memory of cartoon themes. THen caught up on some sweeet sweet sleep. Then started on the normal sunday-tuesday last minute work frenzy.....errrghhh.
Mann....just when we thought all the quintesentially malaysian sucking up and politicking was over they announced the start of nominations for the mSoc posts next year......haha it will be veeery interesting to just sit back and watch sOmE people desperately and shamelessly claw ( and suck ) their way through. Then again, i might just be tempted to run for committee...

Yayyy its my first post on my first blog..< party popper> Now i actually have something to get to as soon as i get sick of trying to work on my late late nights.Pardons for the vanilla template/layout - it'll get better..Anyways lets get straight to business on an update on things :
The last week was kinda normal, except with a pleasant surprise in weekly programming coursework deadlines extended 3 days to account for the fact that lab servers were down for the weekend...yaay. And Mnite rehearsals almost everyday. Made it to Ruby's party on saturday with most of our linstead msian/singaporean posse just in time....Opium ( the club ) was helluva packed, but the music was alright...haven't heard that much Indian and Arabic music at a club in a while - shame they played a bit too much retro ( yess darren we know you loved that). Got home around 4 -ish after a pitstop at McDoonaldssss.....and overslept- haha baarely made it the next afternoon for more mNite rehearsals
Next week's gonna be a biaatch....IC's Malaysian night practices are gettin into final gear - haha despite me havin only one dance and being the odd extra you can't help but feel the shared tension amongst the others who are doing a little bit more ( or a lot , and no i'm not doing dikir barat...got a problem with that?) Everything's really shaping up and the dancing and everything's lookin really cool - kudos to all the other performers. Work's not gonna be so nasty next week with a simple SQL lab due, but the java test on tues is gonna be killer.
