To Friends, Food & Fffffreakalickykikodingdong

Couldn't find a third 'F' word thats gonna fit in the theme. So sue me. Oh and this is mostly gonna start with a little 'this was my week' ditty - Dont worry i've already got some rants lined up for the next post!

Its been a tiring, tummy filling, wallet busting syiok-ifying weekend in London. In summary:

- Caught Imperial's mnite. Not too shabby. Some good singing ( but a guitar solo at the end of Berhenti Berharap? no, non, nein, niet, nahiee - rosak mood) and their take on Thriller was dope. Their leads were good too. Compared to Warwick's mNite this year? Must watch both DVDs first then can comment....

Post IC Mnite poseur-ing (camwhoring sounds so keras) . Sick of my smarmy mug yet?

- Made up for lost time in eating out - Thai at Addie's, Indian at Masala Zone, Italian at Zizzi's and Lebanese at Al-Dar. And as if that werent enough foodie-ism, randomly watched 'the f-word' reruns on late night TV ( that Gordon Ramsay show).

- Managed a spot of shopping on Sunday. Retail therapy felt sooo good after a whole term of shoplessness. Picked up some Molton Brown goodies, scarves, and some super syiok chocolates , among other things.

Single source, single bean darks. Good ol' Valrhonas, Prestat thins and something new. *beats off chocoholics with a stick*

You'd expect me to say "oh GOSH i just can't wait to go back again to London next week again!" but looking at my bank balance, and forecasting the partyin thats gonna come up in the last week of term.....yeahh.....we'll see how that goes. Definitely plannin to hit some Japanese food, the V&A and just for old times' sakes, Nahar. I want my Nahar Special and goreng pisang dammit!!

Anything interesting during the week? Not really - just another dangerously slack week. The fuckin rapid prototyper's still out so we still can't do jack shit on our Hydro coursework, and we only found out what lab we were writing up on today.

Oh yeah Nadia's 21st came up just as i was struck by a sudden urge to bake something sweet. Sorted then - made the birthday girl a Walnut and Carrot cake with cream cheese and maple icing. Had Shivani helpin in the kitchen too - made some samosas while we were making the cake - retarded trapezium shaped samosas since i only had tiny popia pastry, but still yummy ones with chick peas, goat's cheese and other things. Boni Dose Samosas!
Icing works wonders covering up niggly bits from "burn removal surgery" No photos of the 'samosas' due to my camera's CCD exploding from the reflections caused by the lethal amounts of oil glistening off the pastry - okay not really but they were a lot more yummy than pretty believe you me.

And now we're back on eeeeeearly Tuesday morning.

Still listening to my super emo/soulful/melancholic mix of Damien Rice, Rufus Wainwright, James Blunt, Dewa, Cokelat and Sheila on 7 with the occasional bright touch of Corrine Bailey Rae. Her name's all over the music columns for a reason - she is THAT good. Trust me *buy* (ehukehuktorrentlimewireemulehukhuk) the album.

Did a runner to sains and topped up the fridge with some things - had an itch for seafood after watching Gordon Ramsay do something with seabass so picked up some things for a recipe that just came to my mind.

Amar's super random food cravings + a *little* free time turns this:
into this:
Panfried seabass with lime leaves on couscous with tomato & coriander in a fish & squash veloute with caramelized eggplants. Quite a mouthful innit? Orgasmolicious! Wonder if Gordon does intern...apprenticeships at La Gavroche...or has any spots open on the f-word kitchen......

Expect my next buncha rants to center around British weather - okay okay before the groans, more specifically the BBC weather reports, and the glorious British underclass that is the Chavs, Yobs, Pikeys etc etc. Boohbye!

"I'll hit you with this pan until you blacken out"

"Better quit while you're ahead - but then again you'll never know how far you'll get ahead. Or how much head you'll get by far.."
